Why USP 797?
USP 797 is a Federally mandated law that has taken the hospital industry to the next level of sterility. After billions have been spent dealing with nosocmial infections in the past five years, the United States Pharmacopeia and the FDA began to question why. Both agencies began to investigate the steps of compounded sterile preparations and found many deficiencies. This discovery led them to authorize the USP 797 standards.
HWI began to receive numerous phone calls regarding this mandate and how it could be a service to the hospital pharmacies. Diving into the mandate and conversing with both the United States Pharmacopeia and FDA, HWI determined that it’s system was the answer to this present mandate.
